Rep. Brad Roae has issued a reminder to fire companies, emergency medical service providers, and volunteer rescue squads about the approaching deadline for grant applications through the Office of the State Fire Commissioner. The deadline is set for Sunday, October 20, at 4 p.m.

"I urge local fire and EMS agencies to get their applications completed as soon as possible so they do not miss out on this grant program," Roae stated. He emphasized the importance of meeting the deadline: "If the Oct. 20, deadline is missed nothing can be done. Every applicant is approved if they submit a completed application by the deadline. It’s the easiest money there is to get, but every year numerous fire departments and ambulance services across the state miss the deadline."

The grants can be used for various projects including facilities, equipment, debt reduction, training, education, recruitment, and retention.

The 6th Legislative District covers several areas in Crawford County and Erie County. Those interested in more information are encouraged to contact Tracy Polovick at 717-260-6358 or via email at tpolovick@pahousegop.com.
