House Republican State Government Committee Chairman Brad Roae criticized the Democrat majority in Harrisburg for what he described as a wasteful use of time and resources during a recent meeting. Roae expressed his frustration with the lack of timely consideration for legislative matters, specifically highlighting the handling of several resolutions by the Democrat majority.

Roae pointed out the delayed vote on House Resolution 385, which aimed to name April 18 as Erie Day, despite being voted on 11 days after the date. He also criticized the last-minute passing of House Resolution 381, which retroactively designated April as Volunteer Month. According to Roae, such delays and rushed decisions are disrespectful to volunteers in the Commonwealth, particularly in Erie.

Additionally, Roae raised concerns about the handling of House Resolution 365, which sought to designate May as Jewish American Heritage Month but faced amendments related to anti-Catholic references. He also noted the approval of designating May as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, even though it was not initially listed for consideration on the public website.

In a statement, Roae emphasized, “The complete lack of transparency and discernment for timely legislation by the majority party in Harrisburg is a disservice to the people of the Commonwealth. The Democrat majority has spent their time wasting that of Pennsylvanians.”

Representative Brad Roae, who represents the 6th Legislative District, which includes various townships and boroughs in Crawford and Erie Counties, expressed his disappointment with the handling of legislative matters by the Democrat majority. Roae's criticism underscores his concerns about the efficiency and effectiveness of the legislative process under the current leadership in Harrisburg.
