City of Meadville recently issued the following announcement.

City Announces Annual Clean-up Day May 14th

City of Meadville City Manager Maryann Menanno has announced that the City of Meadville annual clean-up day for City residents will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the City’s Public Works Garage, 1340 South Cottage Street. The garage is accessible from Clark Road, where it intersects with US Route 322 south of Channellock. Signs will be posted advising drivers where to go. Residents are reminded that each vehicle load is $10.00, and proof of residency is required. Public Works employees will be on hand to assist with unloading and to direct traffic.

Construction materials such as bricks, concrete blocks, shingles from individual homeowners, dried paint cans, mattresses, and batteries of all types will be accepted. Yard waste and organic materials will also be accepted but must be kept separate from other debris. The following items will not be accepted: electronics (TVs, phones, computers, monitors, etc.), fluorescent light bulbs, liquids including paint and household chemicals, tires, junk vehicles, household trash, clothing, appliances with Freon, and thermostats containing mercury.
