CONNEAUT SCHOOL DISTRICT: All of Conneaut School District going 100% Virtual 12/1/20 through 12/4/20

Zoooom

Conneaut School District issued the following announcement.

Dear Conneaut Families:

On Monday, November 23, 2020, Governor Tom Wolf, the PA Department of Health and PA Department of Education made several new recommendations for schools in conjunction with new guidance, mandates and an Attestation requirement in relation to COVID-19.

This new guidance is directly related to 63 of our 67 Pennsylvania counties experiencing Substantial COVID-19 transmission. As a result, all Conneaut Schools will move to a 100% virtual learning environment on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Our 100% virtual learning will occur through Friday, December 4, 2020, but families should prepare for a longer suspension of in-person learning.

The Board of School Directors will meet on December 2, 2020 to discuss the continuation of virtual learning and our Attestation decision.  Our goal was to never transition to a 100% virtual environment. We recognize that the decision to continue remote learning will impact families’ lives and schedules. The Board and staff believe in-person learning is of paramount importance for the well-being of our students and our community.

We will share additional information following the Thanksgiving Break. Lastly, all PA schools are required to enforce the November 20th Secretary of Health’s Travel Order. Students and staff visiting other states are required to have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to entering the commonwealth or quarantine for 14 days upon return to Pennsylvania.

Please Stay Safe,

Jarrin Sperry

Superintendent of Schools

Conneaut School District
