We are pleased to announce that the City of Meadville Fire Department was recently awarded a grant from the Dennis Leary Foundation in the amount of $8,383.00 for new bail out kits. These kits allow our firefighting crews to remove themselves from harm if a ladder is unable to be placed for their escape from a structure. Fire Department staff worked together with City administration to prepare and submit the application for this grant program, which was awarded earlier this week. This only the second award from the Foundation that has been received in Northwest PA. A heartfelt congratulations to all the staff members that worked hard to make this possible!
