Today, City of Meadville Police Chief Mike Tautin received word from Senator Michele Brooks Office that the department had been awarded a grant in the amount of $445,650 from the  Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) Local Law Enforcement Support Grant Program. This program was created by lawmakers as part of the state budget in July, to be used for projects or purchases that enhance public safety. The funding received by the City will be utilized towards purchasing body camera systems, enhanced & specialized training for the officers, and technology upgrades to the department.
