Graduates earn 388 degrees from Allegheny College

About 19.8 percent of the 388 degrees and certificates handed out by Allegheny College in 2017-18 were to students in biological and biomedical sciences programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Meadville conferred 77 bachelor's degrees in biological and biomedical sciences programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general psychology. Data shows the school gave out 45 bachelor's degrees in general psychology, followed by 43 bachelor's degrees in general biology/biological sciences and 36 bachelor's degrees in general economics.

The college enrolled 1,771 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
