Fire and emergency medical service organizations in Pennsylvania’s 65th Legislative District will receive a total of $543,382 in state grants. The announcement was made by Rep. Kathy L. Rapp (R-Warren/Crawford/Forest), who represents the district in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
“Firefighters and emergency responders in rural Pennsylvania face the challenge of covering vast territories with limited resources,” Rapp said. “We can’t shrink those coverage areas, but we can strengthen support for fire and ambulance companies by ensuring they have the funding they need. These grants are an important step toward that goal.”
The grant program is managed by the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency and Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC). It supports projects such as facility construction or renovation, equipment purchase or repair, training, recruitment and retention efforts, public education on fire safety, and debt reduction. All eligible companies that apply receive funding after filing a grant agreement with OSFC.
