Dear Students, Families and School Community, Over the past six-months, the District and Cambridge Springs Borough have partnered to develop and implement a School Resource Officer (SRO) program.
This January, Officer Angelo and Officer Froehlich will begin their assignments in PENNCREST schools. Both Officer Angelo and Officer Froehlich are police officers employed by the Cambridge Springs Police Department (CSPD).
These officers and any other responding CSPD officer have policing authority and arrest powers on any PENNCREST property and bus stop/route. We are thrilled to implement this additional school safety and security measure.
The primary responsibility of our School Resource Officers is student, staff and visitor safety. Secondary responsibilities include general law enforcement activities, safety education, and mentoring atrisk youth.
This partnership would not be possible without the leadership and support from the PENNCREST Board of School Directors and from Cambridge Springs Borough, Hayfield Township, Randolph Township, and Steuben Township.
