In the spring of 2022, Seton Catholic School and The Epiphany of the Lord Parish, Meadville, raised $2000 for the Knights of Columbus baby bottle fundraiser to benefit the Women’s Care Center of Erie. The donation was used to purchase a mobile ultrasound unit that will service Erie, Crawford and Warren counties.
On Jan. 19, Women’s Care Center Executive Director Randy Newport introduced the Seton students to the finished unit. Newport wanted to show the students what their efforts provided their community.
The unit will hopefully start serving women this spring. A schedule will be established a month in advance, indicating locations and dates of service. Although the most impressive part of the unit is its ultrasound capabilities, the unit also will provide other forms of medical testing and counseling services. This rig has an impressive set of features onboard and will strive to provide a welcoming and approachable experience outside its entrance as well.
Students from Seton Catholic School, Meadville, were able to enter the mobile ultrasound unit and learn how mothers-in-need would be able to receive accessible prenatal care.
