How to P.R.A.Y.

Lent is the time before Easter when we are called to focus on our spiritual habits and the ways we draw closer to God. During worship in this set-aside season, we will study how to pray, or “How to P.R.A.Y,” as Pete Greig puts it in his book, “How to Pray; A Simple Guide for Normal People.

The Prayer Course class, beginning Feb 26, is a great complement to our Lent sermon series, How to Pray. Details HERE

FEB 25 & 26    Jesus, Teach Us

The disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to pray. What sounds like a simple request reflects a deep desire of the human heart. We will start here.

MAR 4 & 5    P = Pause

The “P” in the acronym stands for “pause.” Prayer offers an invitation to be still and sit in God’s presence. We will celebrate communion as a way to slow down in a fast-moving world…and be present with God.

MAR 11 & 12    R = Rejoice

The “R” in the word “pray” reminds us to “rejoice.” The Lord’s Prayer begins, “Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.” These words of adoration help us enjoy God’s presence before we start asking for things in our lives.

MAR 18 & 19    A = Ask

The “A” stands for ‘ask,” or in the words of the Lord’s Prayer, “Give us this day our daily bread.” How can we think bigger and open ourselves to the miracle-working power of prayer?

MAR 25 & 26

Cantata Weekend    CANTATA WEEKEND!

Sat, 5:00 PM & Sun, 8:45 AM ~  We will enjoy Our Father: a Musical Journey through the Lord’s Prayer with the choir and orchestra.

Sun, 11:15 AM ~ We will experience a service of music and prayer with Messengers of Grace.

APR 1 & 2

Palm / Passion Weekend    Y = Yield

The “Y” in the prayer acronym and think about the ways we “yield” to the will of God. Just as Jesus “set his face to Jerusalem,” we turn to Holy Week by saying yes to God.

APR 9

Easter    EASTER

Join us as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus!
