State Representative Brad Roae has been appointed as the Republican chairman of the House State Government Committee for the 2024-25 Legislative Session. This marks his second consecutive term in this role.

The committee oversees legislation related to state government operations, including constitutional amendments, statewide initiatives, and election code reforms. “I’m honored to be selected to again chair this important committee,” Roae stated. He emphasized a focus on election integrity, advocating for measures such as citizenship proof for voting and more comprehensive audits of election results.

Roae also expressed intentions to address other issues like making English the official language of Pennsylvania and reducing gerrymandering in legislative districts. Additionally, he criticized past practices under Democratic leadership for focusing on non-binding resolutions rather than substantive legislation.

As chairman, Roae will play a key role in determining which bills are considered by the full House of Representatives. With over a decade of experience on the State Government Committee and previous leadership roles in other committees, Roae brings significant expertise to his position.
